Destiny owns all kinds of animals including cats, dogs, horses and cattle. She used to be on the Whitesboro Riding Club and still currently shows in reigning events. She is planning on becoming an Licensed Technician through Penn Foster.

Receptionist Supervisor
Kelsey has worked as a receptionist in our clinic since 2019 and she became the receptionist supervisor in 2022. She loves building relationships with our clients and getting to know them better. When she is not at work she enjoys shopping, scrapbooking, and spending time at home with her husband and their little boy, Kalvin.
Lucas
Lucas was our clinic dog for many years and he saved countless lives of dogs that have needed blood transfusions. As Lucas got older, we realized that he needed to be a part of a family. Shortly after, Gina’s daughter decided to adopt Lucas! Although he is no longer at our clinic, we are so happy that he is still a part of our family.
Juliet Rodriguez, CVA
Veterinary Assistant
Juliet has been a Certified Vet Assistant since 2020. She has spent her time since then gaining experience working with small animals. She has a cat named Brisby and a dog named Minnie. She is also bilingual!
Erin Brockman
Veterinary Assistant
Erin is a busy mom to 2 boys! She has 2 cats, Panther and Autumn and a golden retriever, Clover. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family. Erin would love to own horses and become a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the future.
Maddison Team
Veterinary Assistant
Maddison may not be a familiar face yet, but she will be soon! She recently joined us as an assistant and has experience working with large animals. She owns 2 cute border collies, horses and would like to own cattle soon. Maddison is also a very talented photographer!
Laura Wright
Veterinary Assistant
Laura is a great advocate for our patients and is a vital part of or team! She loves all animals, but loves pigs the most! She is currently on track to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician through San Juan College. When Laura is not here, she loves to spend time with her family and her dog, Dally.
Anna T. Godwin, DVM
Veterinarian / Practice Owner
Dr. Anna Godwin started at Refinery Road Veterinary clinic in 2018 as a recent graduate. She became a partner of RRVC in 2021. She grew up in Grapevine, Texas. She completed her undergraduate at Ouachita Baptist University and completed vet school at Texas A&M University. She is married with two children. She has 3 dogs, 3 cats, 23 fish, 2 snails and 16 chickens!
Cassie Whisenant, CVPM
Practice Manager
Cassie is certified as a veterinary practice manager through the VHMA. She has worked around animals her entire life and enjoys helping people with their pets. She has dogs, cats, chickens, and reptiles! She enjoys fossil hunting, rockhounding, attending conventions, and gaming.
Bridgette McElreath
Veterinary Assistant
Bridgette is currently attending Penn Foster to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and she hopes to go to continue on to becoming a doctor someday. She has a cat named Kitty. During her time off she enjoys going to the river.
Bonnie Larson

Bonnie is one of our wonderful receptionists. She has been married for 17 years and is a mom to two boys and two girls. She has become a grandmother to her first grandbaby!
Gina Conroy
Veterinary Assistant
Gina has years of experience in veterinary medicine, as well as human medicine. She has many pets including 4 dogs, 1 cat, 3 chickens, and a horse. She has been married for over 20 years and has 1 daughter. She enjoys horseback riding in her free time.
John M. Horn, DVM
Veterinarian / Practice Owner
Dr. John Horn was born in Artesia, New Mexico, and grew up in Springer. He went to school in College Station and graduated from Texas A&M in 1990. He started working as a vet at Refinery Road Vet Clinic the same year. Dr. Horn is happily married and has two children, two grandchildren, two dogs, and two cats. He first obtained his pilot's license in 2009. In 2011, he bought an experimental aircraft kit and finished building his first plane in 2013 and a second airplane in 2018. He enjoys flying in his spare time.
LaKeisha Wheeler
Kennel Attendant
Keisha joins us in the fall and winter and spends the rest of her time back home in Nebraska. In the short time that she spends with us, she is vital part of our team! Keisha loves music festivals, travelling and crafting.
Samuel T. Leach, DVM
Veterinarian / Practice Owner
Dr. Samuel Leach graduated from Texas A&M in 1988, then completed his post-graduate studies at Refinery Road Veterinary Clinic for about 4 months. He and his family then moved to Africa for agriculture missions for about a year. Afterward, he started and owned his own veterinary practice in Florida for about 10 years. Continuing his agriculture missions, he then moved to Central Asia with his family for about 9 years before returning to Gainesville in 2007 to become a partner at Refinery Road Vet Clinic. Sam is happily married and has 6 children.

Ashlyn is one of our newest assistants. She has her hands full with 1 cat, 1 dog, 1 horse, 1 donkey and even some chickens! In her free time, she loves to read, bullet journal and spend time with her family. She is also working towards becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Cedar Valley College.

Veterinary Technician Supervisor
Lisa is a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Cedar Valley College and our Vet Tech Supervisor. She has experience in handling all types of animals, from dogs and cats to horses and cattle. She owns dogs, horses and cattle with her husband. She enjoys riding her horses in her spare time, and is a part of the Era Booster Club.

Claire owns 1 cat, 1 dog, 1 bunny and 2 horses. She loves to spend her free time baking, gardening and attending concerts. She also raises French bulldogs!

Veterinary Technician
Chelsea was the first licensed technician to join our team in 2017! She is a Murray State College graduate and is licensed in Oklahoma and Texas. Chelsea has a huge heart and passion for helping pets and educating our clients. She loves to craft, sing, and is always laughing!
Makenna Hermes
Large Animal Attendant
Makenna is our amazing large animal attendant. She owns 2 dogs, 1 cat, and lots of cows! She loves showing heifers and bulls and raising cattle altogether. She plans to become a Licensed Technician and continue working with large animals.

Emily loves working with all animals. She enjoys horse riding and raising charolais cattle with her family. Emily plans to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster. We're so thankful to have her on our team!

Dr. Leddy McBride graduated from Texas A&M in 2021 and joined us in the same year. She is originally from Tucsola, Tx. Dr. McBride enjoys camping, hiking, and gardening in her free time. She also has 1 cat, Watson. Dr. McBride is excited to begin her career as a veterinarian in a growing clinic!
Morgan Pearce
Receptionist
Morgan has been a receptionist at the clinic since 2021. She started out as a part time employee but started full time when we opened our new clinic. She has two dogs, Maci and Jill. She enjoys spending time outdoors and raising her bottle calf!
Justin C. Hartman, DVM
Veterinarian / Practice Owner
Dr. Justin Hartman graduated from Texas A&M in 2000 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine with honors and a bachelor's degree in veterinary science with honors. He became a partner at Refinery Road Veterinary Clinic the same year. Dr. Hartman is happily married and has three girls, many dogs, and horses. Dr. Hartman also makes time to work with one his favorite charities, Noah's Ark Animal Shelter. He has many hobbies, including beekeeping, home brewing, viticulture (growing grapes), horseback riding and hunting. He also loves hiking and visiting Colorado, so be careful if you mention this or you will have him share many pictures of his adventures with you!

Katja is a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster. She is originally from Germany, and spends the summers with her children visiting the country. She enjoys outdoors, fossil hunting, and attending concerts.
Aracely Cruz

Aracely began working as a kennel attendant in 2018 and became an assistant shortly after. Now, she looks over our boarding facility! She owns the cutest lab mix, Mila. When she is not working, she loves to craft, scrapbook, shop and spend time with her family. She is working towards becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster. She is also bilingual!

Hillary is one of the newest additions to our team. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician that recently graduated from Murray State College. One of Hillary's favorite animals to work with are pigs! When she is not here she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
